Is there any way to get wax off of my fenders!?

Try washing with full strength dish washing soap! if that does not work go for ammoina! if That does not work try paint thinner! I am not a body and pint specialist but I have ruined good wax jobs with all of these!

hey... if you need to remove wax on your fender go down to your local body shop supply and pick up a gallon of wax remover... up here thats the only size we can get it in.. follow the directions on the back and, walla, wax less fender.. [addsig]

Maybe you can give us a little more information?
CJ? YJ? TJ?
Is it the fenders, or the fender flares?
What type of wax are you trying to remove? Car wax, Candle wax? What?
And why are you trying to remove it? Was it a bad wax job? Are you painting the fender?
The reason I ask is that there are different methods for different results. Some times you need a clean non greasy outcome and other times you want a new waxed, but clear surface.
Note: If you do use a wax remover, be sure not to get it on the plastic flares.
It might turn them white.

Sorry, I'm hungry and I get grumpy when hungry. Any auto parts store will have some chemical you can use to remove the finish. I've used the Meguires brand paint scrub before, it's a lot of work but it will expose paint!.
Course my jeep kept rolling back away from mecringing in fear each time I approached her with the stuff, so to keep her from running away for good, I havent waxed her now in oh... 10yrs. Gonna go git "ungrumpy" now.

I have a feeling that Megly has wax? on her fender flares.
Let's make sure that's what she is trying to clean before telling her to use some heavy duty cleaners, or worse, that will cause more problems.

you may want to use a piece of cardboard or something similar to protect the paint from the bristles. oh
yeah, don't use a metal bristle brush. A thought passed my mind about steel wool... you'd have to be careful
not to damage the nearby paint, and also not to wear down the slight texturing on the fender flares...

Here is what I use to clean the wax, and fading from the rubber fender flares.
Get a small plastic bristle brush (Like the ones guys use to clean greasy finger nails) and a bottle of "Mothers brand Back to Black" or "Turtle Wax brand Black Chrome" usually found at your local auto parts store or even Wallmart. Cost is about $4.00. This is a liquid cleaner/ protectant designed to clean faded and or durty rubber (And make it look black again) Works great on car trim too. Wipe the flares with a damp rag to get off any road dirt. Shake and open the bottle and pour a "TINY" bit of "Back to Black" on the brush and lightly scrub the rubber flares (Back and forth and in a circles). Do a little at a time and wipe off the excess. The brush technique will get into the pores and clean out any wax and dirt build up. The bottle will go a long way. After the flares are clean, you can use this product with a rag to occasionally keep them looking good.
I use spray foam tire cleaner/ protectant applied with a rag to keep mine looking nice.
(Once they have the wax and dirt removed)
NOTE: Do not use any paint thinners or solvents on rubber because it will dry it out and look bad.

its wax right? why dont you take a soft cloth and rub it off? its not like the gloss finish is it? its like turtle wax, right? it seems very simple.... maybe?[addsig]

I use rubbing alcohol, works great, it will work on paint too. The clear coat is not affected by it either, but you will have to re-wax the paint you use it on. It works great on windows, rubber, everything, and it's cheap. Good luck.[addsig]

I think you are getting slightly off the original track. Megly needed to get the wax residue off her rubber fender flares. You all make good points about removing wax from the hard painted surfaces. A good professional wax and grease remover will prepair a surface for paint. Even some thinners will work. (Proper thinner for the application) But in her case I have found using thinners or wax removers will dry out the rubber and leave the surface looking in need of moisture. I wanted to make sure Megly and others trying to just clean for looks understands the process.
The object is to use minimal strength cleaners to get the job done.
Note: For excess wax buildup around windows, door handles and in other cracks and seams. A medium bristle toothbrush does wonders for a clean detailed look. It is amasing the difference after cleaning.[addsig]
