... to drive my YJ with a different ratio in the front and back?
Before anyone yells "NO YOU DUMB@$$" to me let me explain...
I have a stock 3.07 in both axles right now, but I will be buying a D44 for the rear this week for my upcoming SOA project.
I will be doing the soa myself and in the process installing the D44 while keeping the D30 in the front. The D44 has a 3.55 ratio in it.
I will NOT be changing any gears for either axles, I'll leave that to the pros.
So now I have to get it TO the pros...
If I install the rear with the different ratio than the front, can I drive it to my mechanics so he can put my new 4.56s in? I was thinking as long as I didn't put it in 4wd I may be okay. OR I could just take the front driveshaft out just to be safe.
Are either of these options possible? I would rather not take the front shaft out since its more work, but...
If it's not possible than I can always have it towed up to my mechanics...
thanks for any ideas
