President Bush :x :x :x :x

where does he get off intervening in the rights of Texas to execute that piece of low-life trash who raped and murdered those two young girls?:x

Just because some world court said the the guy was not informed of his right as a citizen on Mexico that he could have gotten council from his government, he still never brought it up in the whole appeals process and now Mexico sues the US in world court and Bush steps in to stop his execution.

This guy needs to die, and Texas will give him a good clean killing if our beloved pres and the world court will stay out of the way long enough.....

steaming....

Yes, 90,
I read about that, too. It made me angry as well. International law? WTH?
Since when did W start caring about what the world court thinks? Maybe W should start securing the border and not worry about what they think in the Hague.

Anybody think that national soverienty might be slipping?

A good clean killing is what that rapist needs :x

I used to respect the man, but any good thoughts I have are slipping away fast.

Like we owe the Mexican government anything!?
After sheltering 1/2 there worst population and giving them free health care.

I too am afraid for our status as an independent nation.

Our international treaty obligations are one of the highest laws of our land. We (the United States) voluntarily entered into an agreement of international law. The President is charged to uphold the obligations of the United States in international treaty regardless of his personal beliefs on the subject. If you read the news stories, it's clear that the President isn't happy with the outcome of the case that he's advocating; however, he is doing his job, as he has to.

oh, ok..
I'll tell that to the parents of the teen girls he raped, tortured, and killed..

I'm sure they will be fine with it. As long as the US upholds a treaty, thats whats really important.

It happened in Denver as well.

A Mexican citizen killed an officer of the law in the execution of his duties. The actor fled to Mexico.

Mexico would NOT extradite without a firm commitment that the actor would NOT receive the death penalty.

I am also worried about the devaluation of the US dollar. Our currency is now less than that of the Canadian dollar!

I bet if that were Jenna and Laura he'd have acted differently. Bush has turned out to be another freakin' liberal who ran on a conservative ticket back in 2000.

A pinko Democrat I work wqith has been saying for years that Bush is the worst president this country has ever seen. I now agree with him. Albeit he and I have totally different reasons for saying it, Bush is a real turd and I am looking forward to his term ending.

Bush ruined the Republican party. Because of this, we will probably be seeing a Clinton/Obama presidency next term and although they think they will be voting for change, what the citizens of this country will actually get is more of the same no matter which party wins... the liberal democrats or the liberal republicans.

Me, well I'll be voting for Ron Paul. Why? Because he is the only candidate from either side I trust. He is the only one who actually answers questions AND gives explanation to his answers. He is a patriot. I do not agree with everything he beleives, but I believe that he is the only one who would work towards true freedom and democracy.

He'll never make it, but maybe if enough of us vote for him we will begin to see real republicans again in 2012. To me, there is little difference between
Hillary Clinton and the likes of Rudy Guliani, who holds a substantial lead for the GOP nomination. They are both gun-grabbing liberals who like to tax and spend. They both support going into Iran. They both are pro abortion. Both for Stem cell research, and their for the Patriot act. Probably the main difference is that Hillary is for standardized healthcare and Rudy is not.

If you are a conservative like myself, and are sick of the weak republicans of the day then our only hope is to regain control of the house and senate because there is going to be a liberal in the White house for another 4-8 years. Hang on to your tax deductions... it's gonna be a wild ride

:(

I also wonder about what happened to State's rights. Why is the President stepping in to what is obviously a State's Right issue?

In light of some information about a treaty between nations dealing with this type of situation, I will say I may have prematurely "gone off" on Bush for this. I need to find out the whole story first but I suspect my feelings will be unchanged. Thought I should mention that.

This, however, doesn't change all the other crap he has disgusted me with.

They went away around 1861.........

exactly, with the war of northern aggression.

States rights is just a term now used loosely by the Supreme Court to throw a case back to the state when the court doesn't want to address it.

But when they want to get involved, like in the Lawence vs Texas case, where the court routinely overturns valid state laws where it wants to.

I thought this was a Jeep forum?:?|

Heh... It is indeed, and one of the better, and more sociable forums that I've come across... The General Chat sometimes sees some... spirited debates, but we're all here for the same reason, so welcome, hope you stay around :)

Off topic....but I just want to say how much I enjoy this forum! I belong to a couple of others just because of the model jeep I have but after checking them out I always come back here because it feels like home.

You can pretty much chat about whatever (in reason) on this board and there is always someone to chat with you, no matter the subject. I know the chats are not always about jeeps but they are interesting (can't wait to see pictures of firemans new son), Joopin's marrriage, Saurian's new house.....well you get the picture. And when you do have a question about your jeep what better place to come.

I for one will always come home!

Thanks for letting me rattle.

well put.
A strange, diverse, yet happy bunch here at Jeepz!:D

Bunch of wack-job fascists and a hand full of commies that happen to both own jeeps and wheel them part-time while spending most of our time debating about who is allowed to hate GW more. LOL. :shades:
