I'm not a big fan of gettin up on the rocks. I like the southern trail riding/hill climbs that we have here so that was a big deciding factor in colleges. Plus with the Body Farm, UTK is one of the largest science/anatomical schools in the nation and I'm going into a chemistry major with future plans at med school. It wasn't all based on trail riding.
I lived in Knoxville for a while. It's a pretty decent scene. I didn't like the campus area though. Too many hills to walk on campus. There is also way too much orange in east TN for an Alabama grad.
There are also some good places to ride in the area including Windrock and some places in Sevierville. You could also cruise North to Harlan, KY and south to Tellico. Jim's Offroad Center and Jim's Offroad warehouse in Oak Ridge will keep you drooling over Jeep accessories.
If you are into medicine, consider UAB-University of Alabama, Birmingham. Awesome medical school and B'ham has got the trail riding scene.
Congrats to all 2007 grads!
