I'm lookin to ditch the rug and go for the hurculiner soon... Has anyone done this? I just need to know how many gallons ( I hope just one) it takes to do the entire floor of a wrangler... I will probably just buy the kit from queadratec.com but if anyone knows a cheaper place please let me know!!! [addsig]

If you have a membership to Sam's Club go there, you can get it for near $75. I'd also get the smaller container, I think it's like 1 pint. Get the smaller one in case you don't have enough from the gallon and for touch-ups. -Mike :-D [addsig]

One gallon will fill your tub with 2 nice coats, and have about 1/4 gallon left over. I did it and put some preparation instructions on my website. Go check it out if you want. Unfortunately, I can't find the pictures that I took and so I can't show you the beautiful before and after pics. I love it and will never go back to carpet. It doesn't really dumb down the road noise like some people will tell you, but it's better than bare metal.

hi_c , how long has it been since you did it? Has it held up well and taken abuse? I can't imagine that the carpet dampens much road noise, so thats not much of a concern... too bad you don't have those pics... I can imagine that it's alot cleaner and nicer looking though... Okay I'm off to view your site... Thanks![addsig]

Sam's club around here no longer carry the Herc kit, that's where I got mine, 1 gal. and 1qt. for $80, with application kit. Get the gallon, rollers, brush, and scotchbrite pads.[addsig]

the hurculiner was 89 here in fla at pepboys and went on just like paint - actually much easier because the finish wasn't such a concern.

prep was a bear, though. the xylne was nasty, nasty, nasty. i was outside and still should have used a respirator. do it in the garage and you'll have to learn to walk all over again.

the finished product is the only way to go. get wet, pull the plugs and drain.

carpet? no way.

Joopin,

I rolled it on in October last year. It's been great! I've had no scuffs or gouges. It took a looooooooong time to prep, but it's the most important part. Especially if you have some rust, like I did. Even surface rust must be taken care of. I threw out all of my rusted body plugs and went to Lowe's and bought 12 black 1" nylon plugs. They were 2 for $1 which is a site cheaper than the dealership who wanted 3.85 for 1 factory body plug!! The nylon wont rust either and it keeps the water from coming in. Easy to pop out when cleaning the inside. If you let mud sit too long on the inside, you have to use a brush when cleaning, otherwise, just hose and drain.

I'm still looking for those darn pictures... They were incredible before and after shots. I'll let you know if/when I find them.
