the M151 is mearly the military set number. If you want to go into numbers then HMMWV isn't even in the handbooks ;-)

I had a manual for the M151 but can't find it to save my life and I am sure that in the last few publications of TM 9-2320-218-XXX (M151 series manuals) it was refered to as a HMMWV. I may be wrong but that was a long time ago. I did 17 years in the army working in, on, and around, the M1038 and when I first came in (1984) we still had M151's.

Sorry to interupt the arguement going on in this post about the humvee thing, but i just wanna compliment those signs, there hella pro.

Oh wait I did miss quote when I said HMMWV wasn't mentioned but in the "TMs" that I have seen, "Hummer" was never stated. but then again the Marines always get the hand-me-downs from the Army. Just good to know that we use the old stuff better than the Army uses the new ;-) "GROUND POUNDER"

While in the military I worked with all of the different branches of the service. we all have our own little piece of the pie that we have to take care of and that gets the job done. Without each branch the others would fall apart. I never knew that the marienes got our hand-me-downs. I always left stuff so busted and broke that it went to the scrap heap.
