hi. i have ring and pinion set for a ford 9inch but i am unsure of the ratio. all it has for marking is m146 scribed in it. is there some way to dtermin the gear ration by counting the # of teeth in the ring and dividing it but the # of teeth in the pinion... thanks for any advise. :D

Oil pressure?

Yes, divide the number of ring gear teeth by the number of pinion gear teeth. Example 43 ring gear teeth divided by 14 pinion gear teeth = 3.07

5.143564789...lol 5.14 i guess..however it was the ratio i was looking for. :D i need a set to match my dana 44's 5.13 and i think this is close enouigh.

wow.... where did it come from.... was it a drag-racing rear end, or was it already in a rockcrawler.... thats a little low for 36" tires....

got the gears from a buddy of mine...he was going to use them but then just forgot about em....heheh my gain... i dont plan on running 36' tires for too much longer. i am doing an soa with my axle swap this winter an am planning on running 40 inch bogger( or something close to it) in the back and 39.5 tsl's up front,.

personally, i'd say that 36" is plenty... anything bigger is overkill
