how hard is it?

How hard is it to switch out an auto transmission for a 5 speed manual? And how much will you end up spending in parts? And also how does the automatic compare to manual when offroading?

I love my auto. It's just hammer down. No loss of momentum. And you don't fill your clutch up with water and mud when you bury it in a big puddle lol. I've wheeled a few manuals but always go back to an auto.

Im not too sure on the price. It really depends on what you have, and what you decide to go with. The difficulty level also depends on your experience and having the right tools for the job. That would most likely be a large portion of your cost if you don't have em.
As far as the difference off road goes, I can't really imagine not having manual shifting. There's just sooooo much more control. Rolling back and forth, choosing your gears, and dumping the clutch, are just the few things that come to mind first. Not to mention the maintenance factor. Manual is definitely the way to go. I couldn't live without it. I really have a hard time understanding sometimes why people would even want an automatic. But that's just my opinion I guess.

Ya. Where I go I would be putting a clutch in every trip lol. And this way the wife can drive it to. Lol. I just run a higher stall so it simulates dumping the clutch.

I like having the auto since a drive alot and don't want to worry about burning the transmission or snythig. But I've always wanted to have a manual. But I don't know if I'd completely like it

Yeah. My friend gve me the idea when I said I was getting a cat back system. He told me to just straight pipe it instead. I'm thinking about doing it now
