how do i know the transfer case i have?

i have an 1980 jeep wagoneer. 360 amc, chrysler a727 3speed auto. what is the transfer case that is used on here? i am unable to locate the id tag. i would like to know as much as i can about it before i put it in without knowing what to check. thanks

NP208 Command-trac (1980-1987; up to 1988 and maybe even to 1991 for fleet and government orders)
4HiPT, 4LoPT, 2Hi

NP219 Quadratrac (1980-1982)
4HiFT, 4HiPT, 4LoPT

Check out the rear differential. If it's offset to one side similar to the front, you have the Quadratrac. A centered diff likely means the 208.

well it is a center diff. but the case i have only has one shift connector. how will that access 4hi and 4low? you will have to forgive me, i am a serious noob when it comes to 4x4 parts. im used to 2wd

One shifter should engage all ranges I guess, I'm not real familiar with a 208 in an SJ.
