high output alternator

:???:I just bought an alternator out of a 97 Grand Cherokee. It fits my 95 YJ and puts out 136amps. Most of the information I've found says I need to also change the wire size for the wire that goes from the alternator to the battery. There isn't 'one' wire. Can any one please tell me exactly which wires I need to change. I think I'll up the wire size to a 1 or 2 gauge. Thanks.

It's the large stud on the back of the alternator, under the rubber boot. Don't replace it, just add a #2 wire from there to the pos side of the battery.

Will a 97 alt. work with a 95 YJ? i just replaced mine a week ago and learnt the regulator was in the computer. I'm thinking the Yj has external regulator. Which might be a problem.

Everything I read said it works. I put one on mine 2 days ago and every thing seems to be fine.

Thanks Bounty__Hunter.
