help with removing a transmission

i have a 89 jeep xj. with a 5 speed. my question is. would it be easier to pull the t case then the transmission or just take them out together. and put them in as a pair also??

It will be a lot easier to remove the Trans. and T.case as a unit but easier to install separated..

yea i ended up dropping them as a unit. i think i will wait till tomorrow after work to put it back in. the rustys long arm makes it hard to remove the transmission
