Help, my Jeep is sick!

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 120,000 miles.

Yesterday morning I went out to start the Jeep and it was totally dead. I got ready to hook up the jumper cables and realized the interior lights had come on and decided to try the key again. It started right up. The clock had reset, but it worked fine the rest of the day.

This morning it started right up, but as I was going down the road the radio started going on and off and the dash lights started blinking like crazy..especially the LED mileage thing. The brake light and the ABS light on the dash stayed lit as far as I could tell. At that point, I decided the best thing to do was take the Jeep home and park it and drive something else, so I did. Just out of couriousity after I turned off the Jeep, I tried to start it again and it was totally dead again.

What is wrong with it? What do we check first? Thanks!

Okay, I'll pass that on to my husband. He's not aware of it yet, but fixing my Jeep when he gets home today is a priority!

Easiest and quickest thing to check are your battery connections.......they do corrode over time. Might just need a little cleaning.

Battery connections and all look new with good connection...still at a loss. Didn't have a lot of time last night to look at it. It was more of a quick inspection that didn't resolve the problem...it's still dead.

I would guess a ground problem somewhere. I would still pull the battery connections off and clean them up.
