Hello from a new Jeep owner in Cincinnati!

My story is simple - I have wanted a Jeep for years - and I just got round to getting one! Mine is a 1992 YJ with the 6cyl 4.0, and a 5 speed manual. It has only 56,000 miles on it so far!

My upgrade plans are:
  • Stereo (in a Tuffy or Smittybuilt console)
  • Lift kit (4" or 6")
  • Wheels and tires (33" or 35")

Cheers!

OK, you hard core guys will likely disapprove of my priorities, but.... I am tackling the stereo installation first! I have a Clarion DXZ785USB head unit to install in the Smittybilt security console I have installed, and a 6 speaker sound bar on the way. I chose the Clarion because it has good output power, and iPod (iPhone is what I will use) integration.
While I wait for the speaker bar I am planning how best to route the wiring... I'm thinking it might be best to route the wires under the roll bar padding, or fish them through the roll bar itself... Then put them in some conduit to protect them from the base of the roll bar - still contemplating above or below the floor? Above seems likely to get abused by passenger feet... Any ideas or experience on this?
Next will be the lift kit! 4" and 33 X 12.5 AT's, I think...

I recently installed one on my 95 YJ. It came with the wires installed within a plastic corrugated harness(underhood style)
I was able to run it under the rollbar pad, along the passenger floorboard, and up under the dash with enough wire to hook directly to the head unit.
It is being fed by an Alpine unit and sounds great with 10 inch woofer and 400 watts-THUMPIN some SWEET HOME ALABAMA!!!!!
