heater hoses

doing a cooling system service on 99 xj. does anyone have knowledge of the heater hoses and why parts departments would have trouble telling which ones I need.

i always just buy heater hose by the foot, cut to length, and install. dealer parts departments would give you something pre-bent and bend you over as such. not sure what their problem is, i'd find another parts place to work with.

:: hands me --- which will not fit in the slightest, because it is either for the wrong Jeep, wrong engine, or for the right Jeep, and right engine, but in a pre-'97 setup, and is therefore slightly different ::

Just a few reasons you could have trouble, if I had a Grand Cherokee with the V-8 in it, I would be all set.

thanks for the replys.noticed one hose is marked 11/16.so I ordered hoses and will see what I get and return if wrong.one heater hose was $22.00 and that was cheaper than the other ones I got prices from.
