just replaced my alternator, no problems there. Voltage running at 14. But whenever I turn on my headlights my voltage indicator drops to zero and my jeep idles roughly. Probably a wire grounding out somwhere, but i haven't seen one that's obvious. Any good advice would be appreciated!! not that any of you have bad advice ;-)
thanks, ben[addsig]

Sounds like your halogen fluid is a little low. Take it to the dealer and ask them to refill it. It's a similar process
to recharging the A/C... :-D

See above post! This would be bad advice. Anyone that knows anything would know that you installed the alternator upside down. ;-)

Is it only when you turn on your lights? [addsig]

Way to go, sergeant. Your lance corporal is now embarassing his unit and his corps by asking wayward
civilians if his alternator was installed bassackwards... :-O

Okay, on the level. check behind the dash around the switch for your lights. It could also be a weak (electrically
speaking) connection. Check the connections to the alternator and battery. Wiggle em and scrape em if you
have to. If that doesn't work, recheck the wiring going to the lights. I suspect it's the former.

You're the one talking about "halogen fluid" levels. You're just jealous because mine worked. :-D   Need some muffler bearings?

benjlever, a couple questions.....
1. why did you change out the alternator?
2. did you have this problem before you changed it out?
3. Is the belt, to the alternator, tight?
4. Are you sure you hooked up ALL the wires, to the right spots?

Todd  (sorry, just funnin ya about the alternator being upside down. Welcome to the board! I'll play nice now)[addsig]
