full power, no start

I have a 92 cherokee laredo 4x4 that i bought in may. The jeep sat for a couple of months till i sold my other car. Now i have the jeep on the road, and i didnt give me any problems at first other than the a/c not working. Now I hardly have any heat (works on low), changed the blower resistor and nothing changed. On top of that, every now and then it doesnt want to start. I get full power to everything but no cranking from the starter. I have never knocked on the starter but im thinking that may be my next option........... any ideas????????

i found out what the problem was ! Sometimes when i put it in park the shifter cable was a little tight and would prevent it from making a ground, therefore no start! stupid little things like that .... at least i didnt have to buy a new neutral safety switch $300 +

Do the lights dim and the voltmeter drop when you attempt to start it? A frozen starter would pull a LOT of current from the electrical system when you apply power to it, so I'd image you'd have dimming lights. Don't power a frozen starter motor for more than a few seconds, as all that current turns directly into heat in the motor windings and will fry the motor (if it hasn't been already)
