swapped an engine 87 for an 89. when i buttoned everything up i found that the carb is not getting any fuel. everything worked before and it got fuel fine. could i have crushed a fuel line when instaling the engine or is there any components that i am not aware of on the engine that need to be replaced?

The line from the tank to the fuel pump comes in on the driver's side, dips under the motor, and comes up the passenger side to the fuel pump. From there it goes across the front of the motor to the fuel filter. I would check the line where it goes under the motor and see if you kinked it. Also, I put a new fuel pump on mine when I swapped motors. The new pump was dead.

also make sure you prime the pump (siphon fuel to it b/4 connecting the feed line) - its a fluid pump not a vac. pump.... it wont pull fuel from the tank if there is too much air in the line - just a thought - bought an old beater car cheap cuz of that very problem!
