fuel line

I have a 98 GC Laredo 5.2l that is leaking gas from the fuel line right at the back of the block. There is a braided line from the fuel rail on the block that curves back towards the the back of the engine. It has a fitting here that connects to a steel tube that curves behind the block. This is where it was too close to the block and wore a hole in the elbow. I cannot find this part anywhere but a dealer and they only sell the entire assembly from tank to engine. How would I do this myself? I can take the part off but I don't have the means of bending and sealing the tube to the braided line on each end. Help!

Here is a picture of the line where it connects to the rail of Dustin's jeep

Is it ok to replace this entire length with fuel rated rubber type line? The line going from the frame to the tank is rubber why can't the line up front be the same?
