Fuel gauge

:roll: Three years ago I replaced the non working fuel/temp gauges in 'Black Betty' my '78 Renegade, with made in 'lower slovobia' gauges that gave out last week. Seems Stewart Warner 835879/Mopar 4740791 are the best available replacement but at $176 bones kind of hard to swallow. Does anyone have a resource for this gauge set?

The list price for the part# 4740791 is $254.00 from a dealer. The 83579 is no longer a good part number. Have you tried the junkyard?.

D@mn, and I thought $176 was outrageous, think I'll have to wait for after tax time. drat.

Well the DARS chart went to replace gauge, so I did, and wha la.

I would've considered an ancilliary gauge but last year I hole drilled and installed a mechanical temp gauge in the one remaining space on the dash of this ole Renegade~about 15 degrees above the voltmeter. The fuel gauge I was having trouble with resides in the speedometer housing
