Fuel cost!

I just wanted to have a rant about the rising cost of fuel :x Well it's not so much the cost of the fuel it's self but the tax that's put on it.
Here in the U.K. the price appears to go up almost daily! I worked it out for the 3 words thread at about $11 a U.K. gallon

With that said and shouting at my PC I feel a little better now.

Wow, I couldn't imagine spending $150 a week for gas but give it a year or so and we may get to that.

Don't remind me.....I'm driving 5 hours to Vegas this morning. I put gas in the Tahoe last night and it was $50 for 12 gallons. :*(

Good to put things in perspective. People over here (myself included) have our panties in a bunch over $4 a gallon.

$4.00 a gallon isn't so bad unless you work for minimum wage.

I don't like conspiracy theorists anymore than most...but something is really fishy when the oil companies are making record profits in the billions...and our government(s) taking a huge cut on taxing each gallon sold at the pump.

So where's the incentive for oversight? hmmm?

It's a win-win for the treasury and the oil & gas companies...not to mention the fear mongerers (AG?) who will be lining their pockets investing in all of the GREEN corporations popping up everywhere.

The bottom line is that the average end-user (we who need and/or like to drive our vehicles) will assume the burden of costs so that greed and political ambition can flourish with the fat cats.

Conspiracy Theory...I think NOT!

Yes, it is totally out of control. I am not understanding WHY now all of a sudden it's so high. As far as I know there is nothing burning.... so why is it continually rising?

I think as long as we tolerate it, it will continue to go up. If we could manage to ban together and not buy it for a few days, wouldn't it make a difference? Everyone rags about it, but how many of us are willing to do something? Don't you think it would matter? If we aren't demanding it, wouldn't it drop, or would it just go higher because the masses aren't buying as much?

Soon it will be total anarchy... People will be holding the poor counter person at Turkey Hill at gunpoint while people fill their tanks for free. I am all for that!

I remember one time about a year ago I was at the pump getting ready to fill up when Habib came running out shouting "Dats it! No-mah- gaz!!!
! Out! Out! "
He was flailing his arms in the air scampering about.. The person in front of me was filling up and I didn't get to turn my pump on yet. The owner then locked the door and got in his car and sped off. I was seriously tempted to tell the person in front of me to NOT PUT THAT PUMP BACK as I was going to pull up and fill up my car for free... but I was too late, they clicked it off. DOHT!!

Now if that was today, and I would have been at that running pump... I would have been flagging people down to fill up for free. God Bless America.... The funny part is the Indian guy owned the gas station and it was called the LIBERTY gas station....had American flags splattered all over the building ....How funny is THAT?? Some Chinese woman own it now.. I think it's now called "Riberty". :shock:

It should be called the "Thank God I am in America and Can Rip Off American's " station. Seems more fitting. Why is it that most of us are struggling and most foreigners are not? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing personally against anyone, but it's just seems so odd. I guess it is easier to get loans and such if you are from another country. For real, it is. Darn it, I knew I should have taken Donuts 101 in school instead of Marijuana 101..... you know what they say about hind sight!
( Actually I did work at Dunkin' Donuts and I spent my check on Marijuana so it all worked out!! 8) )
