Front D44 from a waggie

Do waggies come with locking and unlocking front hubs? i thought they did but on this waggie axle i have it doesnt have it???

Many do not have them. Some even came with a vacuum disconnect similar to the YJ. I think it's an easy conversion to put on manual hubs but I don't know which donor vehicle to use.

If your waggie had quadratrac it wouldn't have locking hubs from the factory. They would be permanently locked. Conversion is easy though, just bolt on.

how would i know if i have quadratrac? it looks like it is locked permanently, and also the 4wheel drive switch doesnt have a low range just 2 wheel and 4 wheel

hey guys i looked around for the conversion kit for this axle and i couldnt find one... but i did find warn hubs for it, is it possible that the hubs on there allready are just permanently locked and if i take those off i can put on a set of warn hubs??

My CJ7 has quadratrac... The previous owner did the part time conversion kit which is modifying the transfer case itself and adding the locking hubs. I think there is just a metal piece (my Haynes calls it a drive flange) that locks the axle to the hub in place of the locking hub unit. Should be bolt on. The whole kit comes from mile marker, so maybe check out their website to feel them out.

Easiest way to tell a quadratrac 4wd is to look at the rear differential, it's seriously offset to one side, just like the front differential.

ummm the diff is in the center, is there anything else i can look for to make sure its not quadratrac? i wan tto make sure i can use these axles under my TJ

and it does have part time 4wheel drive, it jsut doesnt have any hubs to lock or unlock, on the mile marker website there conversion doesnt fint my year and truck so im just thinking that the axles are locked to the hubs with a drive flange and if i remove it i can install regular lockable hubs, im going to have to find out...

You don't have Quadratrac, and the axles will work in a Wrangler if the front is driver's side diff.

hey bounty, it is a drivers side diff but im trying to figure out how to lick and unlock the front axle there are no hubs on it now. and i wan tto put hubs on it hehe

Does it have vacuum disconnect? Some Waggy D44's do.

no it doesnt look like it does there no vacuum unit like the wranglers have
