Front axle

Hi, some of y'all might not recognize this screen name, but give me your opinion on this.... What front axle out there would be able to turn 37"-39" tires without breaking on the trails? I know the Dana 60, but they are expensive and VERY hard to find one with the driver-side diff..... the market is flooded with ford D60 though...

Ford D60's are the easiest to find (at least around here)....and they are driver side diffs.

They are also high pinion...which helps with driveline angles and strength.

Ooops, never mind then. This part is what got me...

Good luck then. Pass. side D60's are tough to find in good shape and that are cheap. The best way is to buy a complete 1 ton truck with the front axle you want...since you can usually get the whole thing cheaper than just the axle (people that take the D60 out usually know what it is, thus want more money).

You could always go with Rockwell's too :D :D  ...they're usually much cheaper than D60's, but require a lot more fab work since you have to go with coils instead of leaves.

The only other option is to build up a D44 real good with Cromo' shafts and all those other goodies...but in the end you'll have several thousand into it, where you'd have been better off with a D60  .
