Okay. I have a friend of mine and my Dad's Jeep. They both have problems.
My buddy has a late 80's XJ with the 4.0 and a stick. His problem is that when it is warm, not cold... the engine cuts out. It doesn't sputter or anything. its like 100% ----> -150% electrical power. Everything just drops dead. Even the Jeep still rolls.
We've replaced the coil, the sparkers, and some more ignition parts, and it still has the problem. We know its electrical related.
As for my Dad....
1996 XJ with AW4 auto and 4.0 six. STOCK.
He has some issues with hestitation/stumbling real bad. Sometimes you turn the key and it won't start until you take the key out and then retry.
I think personally its bad plugs, but they were JUST replaced.
Soon, I will be testing out the idle air control sensor, the O2 sensor, and gonna check out the fuel injectors.
