this wagoneer has a 360 big block engine, automatic, good tires, plus an extra set of tires in good shape. the interior is decent, body a little ragged nothing that is a major problem to fix. Raised the hood, and it looks like it's been well maintened all clean, It's on the road now. Rode in it a couple of days ago on the highway seemed to run good, guy said he would take 800 dollars for it, What's your thoughts on it? I'll try to post some pics in a day or two.

I figure it well be a gas hog, but I got this deep rooted psychological problem about getting back on the trails and off the beaten path. Do not want to spend anouther summer with out 4 wheel drive. So to heck with the gas mileage.

I'm sure you're right about it's appetite for fuel, but I bet it will go wherever you point it. If you have another daily driver I don't know if you can go wrong for $800. But then again I suffer from that same deep rooted psychological problem. To me any Jeep's a good Jeep!

Here's the wagoneer I'm considering purchaseing. Those shackles hanging down the way they are dont look to good. The thought was going through my mind about putting coil springs on it, dont have a clue as to weather or not it can be done with out spending a fortune on it. Dont plan on spending much money on this thing.

for 800.00, I cant see how you can go wrong. It should have dana 44 30 spline axles front and rear. Its a big ride so like you said it will get thirsty.

Buy it. Throw some classic tags on it. Have fun with it. If you don't want it, I'll come down to Virginia and buy it for 800. LOL

They make a beast of a trail rig.

I'd remove the booty-fab shackles for stock length shackles, and replace the bent and sagged leaf springs with a set of lift springs. Then throw on a set of 33" or 35" tires even if trimming sheet metal is required.

lift it right and it will be sweet. that sucker will be a monster off road. they ride nice though and are easy to work on

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. Think I'm gonna get it. SuperJ I think ya gave me a good idea for the tail gate, "off road monster",painted on it. Cheers Bro's.
