ford 9inch tube question

i have finally got around to stipping this axle down! mostly good news. 31 spline axles, 4.10 gears i can sell and the big brakes. however i am not so sure this is the strongest ford 9 inch case. it is very light once everything is out. i guess my question is what is a nodular tube and how can i tell if i have the strong 9inch tube? what should i be looking for?thanks all. chris

haha.... here's a way to tell.... if it is a tube for a ford 9".. it is strong.... the mass is all in the axle shafts and differential... without all that, it is not really too heavy.. just hollow tubes from a hollow ball

lol..what do you mean hollow tube to hollow ball? i just thought that this tube was so light it wouldnt be albe to stand a hit from a rock or something without getting damaged. also i have heard that there is 2 different tubes for the 9inch. one is supposed to be alot stronger and thicker than the other.

i'm sure that ANY version of the 9" will be much better than a dana 35

9'' are VERY light axles, if it is 31 spline, and not 28 im sure its a heavy duty one.
