Firefox, and BBcode shortcut. Just "Right Click"

Okay, well I've been using Firefox for a couple of years now, and I just found out about the right click feature. So, I figure there may be a few of you who may not be aware as well.

Maybe I'm the only dork who doesn't. But did you all know about the "Right click BB code" feature in Firefox?

As you know if you want to put quotes or tags of any kind around a particular sentence, you have to click reply, and use the message editor. You usually hightlight a sentence or word and click the "quote" button and that will quote the selected material.

Well, if you right click over the selected material in firefox, you get the BBcode selections for image, bold, italic, color, font, etc. and it will put the tags on for you just like the editor. This is especially convenient when you are in the "Quick Reply" area. (and quick reply is very convenient for dial up connections)

Just thought I'd share, it's a great feature.

RE: Should be brought to attention to all....

That's pretty cool, Mingez!

What version do you have Mingez? Whatever it is I want it 'cause mine doesn't work either.

I run Firefox/1.0.4

Okay, so I have the latest version. Did you install any extensions?

I think I have the latest version too. I have been meaning to check out the plugins for some time. I should really do that. I bet that's what it is.

I don't get that choice either. I'm using 1.0 and when right clicking on a selection I only get "copy", "select all", "search web for..." and view selection source". Maybe an extension that you added?

Hi,

I think Mingez has the Firefox extension called "BBCode" installed. This extension adds the functionality he described in his first post.

You can get the extension here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensio...ox&category=Editing and Forms&numpg=10&id=128

Note that, for security reasons, Mozilla usually requires that you have the latest version of Firefox before you can download or install any extensions...

Hope that helps
