so im sure that ive beaten this dead horse by now but it should all be over in the next couple of days. So my new trans clutch and 4.88 gears have arrived and am taking it to my guy in a little bit so we can start the install. My qualm is after the install is done what tests should i do to make sure everything is copacetic. Ive heard of new gears slipping, will i feel it/ hear it? and how long is the break in period on a trans, and how do i break in a new trans.... I belief that jfrabat said that for the gears I need the diff fluid changed at 500 miles to remove metal shavings, and not to drive over 45 for the first 50 miles.

SIDE NOTE: i know that the gears are going to increase the overall torque of my jeep and the only concern I have with that is 80% of the time when driving through parking lots it can be a "bit" jumpy trying to drive slow in 1st and 2nd will the gears make it much worse or is there a way to fix this?

if it is an auto trans, that is the only thing that should slip.. if you have axle ot man. transmission gears slipping, you'll know it and you will have big problems. auto trans slip you'll know it too, pretty obvious, the engine will rev up between shifts.

google search gears break in, I think randy's ring and pinion has a great right up on how to break gears in, do it, then change the oil in 500-600 miles

its a manual transmission, and I actually bought my gears from randys and didnt know they had all of those write ups. It seems pretty straight forward. Thanks.
