exhaust

So i'm looking at upgrading my exhaust from the factory setup and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this matter? I hear multiple names thrown out there such as Banks, Mangnaflow, borla, etc.... Is any one particular brand geared more towards the 4.0L I6 or are they all basically the same?

What are the most important specs to look at when choosing an exhaust?

I'd also like to point out that I live in CA (bay area) and stupid emissions play a role in my decision.

I think that most people base their decision on price, sound of the exhaust, stainless or not. If you go offroading much you probably don't want to dump much money on something that could get torn off though.

I don't know much about the different brands and their sounds though.
