will a 1995 jeep cherokee 4.0 H.O. fit in a 1997 wrangler 4.0 without much trouble?

yes, if you are simply swapping block intake and head, swap everything over from the old motor you should be fine. The accessory drives are different as is the ignition and sensors. the 95 ECM is OBDI and the 97 is OBD II. check you local state though, in my state it is not a smog legal swap to put an older motor into a newer chassis.

re engine swap; 'CAN'T REMEMBER'. I HAVE an AA FJ 504 hick aluminum adaptor. I have a 94 yj with 4 cyl. crap eng. some one here told me to get a t-90 transmission [ I think] and its posable to install a ford 302 v8. anyway, the jeep swap is coming up ! can someone help? thanks vin
