Engine Smoke

Hi,
Am new to this forum. I run a 02 liberty, 2.5 turbo Diesel. It has been dripping oil from the engine breather pipe, the one that connects to the turbo. recently it has been smoking a lot. Do i need to replace the Engine for a while now. If so, woud a 2.8 CRD by a perfect match?

Has your engine completely stopped working, or is it beyond repair? It seems like you might need a new gasket or a couple parts to fix the problem. I am not a diesel guy so I don't know too much about them, but maybe someone else will know something.

Sounds like to much blow by. I haven't seen a liberty with the 2.5. Only 2.8. But I doubt it would be a direct swap. The computer system is totally diff

I would suggest looking into an overhaul or see if it's just a turbo seal leaking.

Did a mechanic check your engine?
There may be more than one reason for smoking...
