I have a 95 Jeep YJ, I put a new Thermostat in 180degree.And Its still showing the Temp to be running over 210degrees goin dwn the road..Whats up with this?? Its never run this Hot before always below 210degrees.Started this last month.Any Help would be Appreciated..Thnks Oh yea Its a 4.0 6cyl :???:

Flush the system (blockage), get a new water pump, But first I would take the thermostat out and run it and see if that even makes a differance!

Does the gauge drop at all?

Once the stat opens temp should drop about 20 degrees,if it is still doing that I would replace the gauge.

Also once it is hot feel the upper hose coming off the water pump.Should be warm to touch and soft when valve is open and hard when valve closed.

As suggested to make sure it is not the stat just remove it for a day wont hurt anything.

If it still does it with no stat I would look at the water pump.
2.5l water pump cost under $40 at auto zone and takes around 2 hours to do yourself.not sure how much is different on the 4.0l

Yea,im goin for the water pump first..I saw alot of Rustylike gunk in block when i replaced the thermo..Gotta be Pump cause it just started this crap..Tryin Pump first then Radiator. It may be a good Idea to flush it..Thnks Guys

Keep it simple. It could just be your radiator cap not holding pressure as well. Does it have a fan clutch? It could be failing. It may be stupid but are you sure there is enough coolant in the sytem and at the right ratio? Water cools better than antifreeze. Also want to make sure you burp the sytem to get out any air.

reservoir was filling up,so i did put a new cap on.Fixed that problem.Yes it has a Clutch Fan,Seems to be enough resistance. And the coolant mixture prob more Anti than water..lol Hope thats not it,Id feel real Stupid..lol I put a gallon in then filled rest of the way after stat opened with a 50/50 mix..Cld that be my Prob? Too much Anti

Too much antifreeze will make it run a lil warmer but not much.
How hot is it running 210-220 is pretty normal.

have you checked for any obstructions in front of radiator? If you have or can borrow a infared thermometer you check the radiator for cold spot telling you that its clogged.
