If an engine is stripped, hot-tanked, and magnifluxed that would mean that all of the original paint would have been removed from the block correct? im not sure what is meant or involved with doing any of the above but some new paint came off my engine to reveal a stock orange coat of paint and im begining to wonder if i was lied to about the quality of my engine! :-x [addsig]

Sounds like you got ripped. If it was stripped and hot tanked, there shouldn't have been and paint on it at all, just the bare iron.[addsig]

yeah that what i was afraid of, i asked because it pushed a rod this after noon, only had 400 miles on it since it was "rebuilt" and the guy i bought it from is giving me a hard time, looks like my lawyer is going to have to get to work

Hey Quik I think it will not take much more than a harsh letter from your lawyer to get this bozo on the ball. Is it a fly by night seller or some one that has a rep to protect? while this is a good method of releasing anger, it will not solve any of his problems. i support the lawyerly-style letter to scare the $hit out of him...[addsig]

This guy is a true sleeze ball, He's got a business but i dont think he's to worried about his reputation, he gave me some bullshit excuse about why the orange paint was under there, said that they paint them all orange as soon as they're hot tanked and stripped, to prevent rust, then paint over them in the color chosen by the buyer...but motors that have been hot tanked and stripped, and PROPERLY rebuilt dont just throw a rod with 400 miles on them, i've been waiting so long to get to that 500-750 mile plateau so that i could finally find out what the true potential of the 300 hp was and it blew up on its own, it was being properly broken in! Does anybody have any ideas how i could "Prove" that he is lying and the engine was never hot tanked or stripped down? because my lawyer says that the burden of proof is upon me, and if i cant prove it then i dont have any grounds for a law suit.
