Edelbrock carb on a 89 Yj??

can anyone help me? i would like to put an edelbrock carb on my 89 yj. she has a 4.2 in her and im looking to put a new carb in her when i get home from this war. can anyone give me any suggestions on what carb is the best to put in her???

a weber 32/8 ( think that is right) is a good carb for these 4.2 258 motors....heard nothing but praise from those who have em[addsig]

first, thank you for being part of our military. be careful.

weber's tunability and reliability are #1. by the way, i understand that weber holds the design for the edelbrock. if you must have the edelbrock, won't you need to change the manifold? i've seen 4bbl manifolds for the chevy I6, which may fit your 4L. someone told me that the jeep inline six was really the chevy 250 six banger.

if you have the time and cash and reallllly love your rig, go with fuel injection. as an old holley mechanical double pumper man, i just can't say enough about the efficiency of computer-controlled injection. with all the jeeps around, you may be able to find an entire motor for what a carb and manifold may run.

wow, i got way out of control. now i'm suggesting you pull your motor.
