drive line vibration (sudden onset)

LOoking for help 1989 cherokee 4whl 225000km auto ............always has had slight rear end growl at low rpm. Sudden onset of acceleration vibration between 10 and 60 km (no off road use) Had rear end pulled apart. told lots of wear and sharp gear set and very loose. Installed side bearings inspected pinion beRING AND DRIVE SHAFDT JOINTS ETC put back together expecting minor howl or whine only . No change to heavy vibration but low rpm growl gone. Repair man seems to have tunnel vision on the gear set wear and doesn"t seem to appreciate the suddenness of the change .Is he missing something or has he set it up too close for a worn gear set or? :lol: [addsig]

how old is your diff oil? might dampen the noise if you change it...[addsig]

Thanks for the response,but I may not have been clear .The minor rear end growl at low rpm had been there a long time.I didnn<t have anything looked at until a drastic abrupt change happened. The vibration between 10 and 60 km. and the now constant and loud gear noise(similar to a partially engeged hub noise)[addsig]
