Now i have taken the doors off before. The door wasn't hanging right tho. My dad decided to replace the bushings. That fixed the problem except for one thing. When he put the door on he had to hit it in. He squashed the busshing and now it won't come off. Any ideas? Help it's really nice this week!!!!!!!!

CJ7 hard top on a YJ?

Open and close it (don't close it all the way, just rock it back and forth) while someone else picks up on the door.

im quoting Inspector Gadget -

"The Jeep was in my garage, so I used a ratchet strap to provide the vertical pull. One end of the strap was hooked to a roof rafter and the other end hooked under the upper door hinge. Tightened the strap in steps, maintaining moderate tension, while fanning the door open and closed. The door gradually raised as the ratchet strap tension was increased. "

I bet this would work for you!

Hello raptor,

While I am honored to have been quoted above, please take careful note of a bit more of that post:

"The tricky part was guessing when the door hinge pins would clear the hinges so I could catch the roughly 70-pound door in mid-air. "

The ratchet strap method worked, but I would nevertheless recommend that you have a helper to handle a heavy and unwieldy Jeep door.

Safety first and always, please!

Yes -- another lift question

Well good news and bad news. I got the doors off. Couldn't try Gadget's idea, sorry don't have the equipment. Used the old WD-40 and a hammer. Greased them up and now they come off easy. Unfortunately i remebered on very important thing right after i took the doors off. I have no mirrors now!!!!!! In jersey atleast it is illegal to have no mirrors. Now i have to order some mirrors to mount on the hinges. Thanks for the help anyway.
