Door light sensor problem

I've been having a problem with my dome light sensor on a 2005 TJ... in warm weather the door sensors work w/o problem, but as soon as it cools down they never register that my doors are closed & keep the dome light on while i'm driving... has anyone else had this problem or has heard of this happening? Help me, help me... I have the "lights out" springs on them now but really like light when I open my doors @ night

Check the switch by hand.If it works then for some reason your door is not pushing it in far enough.I am not sure if there is an adjustment. You may have to stick something on the inside of the door to push on the switch more.

I have some thick teflon tape on there now (.5 mm or so) but they still come on & the tape slides due to the directional pushing of the pin on the closing door

When you push on the switch does the hole switch push back into the door frame? You may need to replace your switch.

The door jamb switch are one time adjustable. If the switch plunger has been pushed back farther than the door can push it to open the contacts , then you probbably need to replace it. Once i was able to pull the switch apart to extend the plunger all the way out then re-installed it and it worked. Try that and see if it works for you.
