diferential sizes ????

I have a 94 grand cherokee how can i tell what size my diff's are i was told they could be dana 34's or 44's any easy way to tell?

a dana 35 will have eight 1/2 or 7/16 bolt heads on the diff cover same with a dana 30 front axle

The '94 will be a D30 front axle, and either a D35 or D44 rear axle. If it's a D44 it should have an aluminum center section and an octagon appearance to the diff cover. The D35 is a little more round than the 44.

See if a magnet will stick to the rear diff center chunk.
