What I know is: Dayton is still in business, they produce motors that are commonly found in air-make-up units and on roof blowers. The winchs they made as far as I know were/are all electric and came in 12 volt and 110 volt and used the same electric motor and powered a cable through gear reduction. You can still buy dayton winches from Harbor Freight Tools for either industrial needs or ATV needs. Not saying they don't make one, but they don't have a winch for jeeps or trucks for recovery. I don't recall ever seeing a dayton PTO winch, but that does not mean they don't make one.
