ok since i want 35's it would appear im going to ahve to get some new axles. how do i go about finding a pair of DANA 44's for my YJ? do i just head to the junk yard and rip a pair off some old bronco i find and hope they work? or is there a particular vehicle out there i.e. scout defender etc, that i can get axles off of that will bolt directly on? i have no idea what im doing, so any help would be appreciated, but i wont take it personally if you dont respond cause im too far gone to save lol[addsig]

not a bronco that would be a 44 and a 9"

scout would work but terrible caster

you could have custom axles made

i belive an old cherokee would work or a commando....[addsig]

find yourself a '76-79 full size Cherokee with a 360,4 speed(super low first),dana 20,and Dana 44's front and rear.[addsig]

Get 'em from a full-size Cherokee. Some have pass. side drop on the front axle, so be sure to get 'em from a SJ with driver's side drop. Also, some have the AMC20 HD rear axle, so be sure to get one with D44 front/rear. Some SJ's came with Quadratrac which has an offset rear diff, you don't want that.

You may have to grind some material off the pumpkin to get the driver's side spring perch to fit, but it's pretty common swap so it's doable.[addsig]
