I have a DANA 300 trans case it was rebuilt ( completely I thought ) barley 100 miles ago, but almost 4 years ago. While it sat it did come across some minor rain but not much. I now have it bolted to a TH350 via advanced adapter, while going down hill NOT accelerating, I get a pretty loud noise comming from the case( I know its coming from the case because I can feel it in the stifter lever. Its sounds like bearings? Is this anything to worry about, are they normally loud, is this common, any suggestions? Thanks :roll: [addsig]

i had the same problem it turn out to be the rear drive shaft.

something you could do is take your rear drive shaft out put something in the t-case so it won't speel any oil.and try do drive your car with only front wheel drive.

D300s have fixed rear outputs, not a slip yoke like a YJ, so there is no need to stuff a rag in the hole b/c there is no hole[addsig]
