ummm....is this for the front or rear??? there are no c-c;ips in the front axle...just pull out the axle shafts and then you will be able to pull out the carrier...take the ring gear off the carrier and bolt it onto your ox(if it is a full locker..if it is a lunch box locker it just goes in place of the carrier gears.. hope your friend knows how to set gears up cause that is a requierment with a fullsize locker...good luck and post some pics when your done.

You need to remove the wheels, calipers, and rotors from both sides. Unbolt the hubs (3 bolts behind each knuckle, 13mm 12pt) and pull the hubs and axle shafts out as one. Then the diff will come out.

The c-clamps you refer to are the differential bearing caps.

right.... no c clips up front... the axles should come out after the hubs are removed.... but... i never looked... what is holding the passenger side shaft in?... the inner shaft, that transfers power from the diff to the passenger side axle

The intermediate shaft in the disconnect axles just floats between the outer shaft and the differential center pin.

Not really, the shift fork sits in a collar that slides on the two shafts. The intermediate shaft has nowhere to go between the outer shaft and the diff center pin.
