Cutting the fenders to Flaties?

I like it, but the Maryland state troopers would make me regret it!

Tug, I would go for it! I would also look into fabing up some type of flares to keep it legal. Did you see the cover of JP mag about two months ago with the "moggler" on the cover? I will look for pics!
Oh in an accident, you would wish all that sheet metal was there, so don't get into an accident, also look into protecting the cut areas with herculiner and seal up any newly exposed seams!

I like that look, actually found some TJ replacement fenders that came pre-bobbed and reinforced, looked like real time savers and wouldnt have to worry about them being lopsided, though they would need paint. Thought they were from Morris 4X4 but can't find 'em now

I've got some bad rust... i am going to replace my front fenders in the spring, but i figure there is no use doing it before a western NY winter... so i was thinking of cutting my fenders for now... i was gonna just lose the flares, but i decided to go hardcore... but i have to leave my rear flares on, i've got a huge rust hole in front of my rear passenger tire, if i get salt in that, goodbye tub. i've got a welder on layaway and i plan on reinforcing the fenders with some tubing.... but its probably just a dream for now....

The only problem I've seen with the flat fender thang, is during rainy days the water REALLY spray out front and back at ya. Makes for nasty driving if there is a lot of sand on the roads where you live.

But man I love the loo too.

I just started stripping mine down to prep it for paint last night. I even liked it with just the CJ flare removed. I have about a week or two before my lift gets here, So I decided why not start now.
