while throwing on some new shocks on my cherokee yesterdayi saw that where my bumpstops connect to the frame it was bent up and cracked a little bit. Who knows how to fix this or how to strengthen the frame and unibody on the cherokee???[addsig]

I don´t know how bad it´s bent, but if it´s just a little I wouldn´t worry about, trying to bend it back straight.
The problem about welding the uni-body is that it´s steel (temepred some for flex) welding softens the steel. The book fix says to drill a 3/16 inch hole at the end of the crack and weld with a MIG welder. I spray the area liberally with a window sprayer filled with water and re-apply as the material dries out. This keeps the temp down on everything except right at the weld.
Seriously cleaning the area, is a must, undercoating stinks and burns. Also after your done it isn´t a bad idea to find access someplace to spray undercoating on the inside of the frame (extended nozzle) to inhibit rust.[addsig]

You can weld plate steel to the unibody, just use a MIG welder and keep it as cool as possible. Good mod to an XJ to weld plate steel to the full length of the rocker panel, good boulder protection.

I wouldn't worry about the bumpstop, unless that area where it's cracked is structural.[addsig]
