Cooling Problems

I noticed that my Jeep was heating up fairly quickly when i was at a complete dead stop.

I checked the fans & One of them is not moving . It is the radiator fan.

Should this be moving at all times?

Why isnt it running?

The electric fan only comes on above a certain temp.

The electric fan has a relay and is designed to come on when needed, and when the AC is on.

can you wire a bypass switch so you can manually turn on the electric fan when the jeep starts to get hot?

Sure, just throw a switch inline with the switched power to the relay, and replace the relay with a jumper wire. Or route a second switched power feed to the relay and keep the relay intact, if it's working correctly.

It's possible something isn't working correctly or your jeep wouldn't get too hot in the first place. Consider fixing it and you won't need to keep your eye on the guage in order to flip the switch.
