Continental Cup in Chilliwack...

So, while watching curling this afternoon with my morning coffee and Frosted Flakes, I learn that the Continental Cup is going to be held this November in Chilliwack, BC...

Just thought that was kinda cool, since Ants is from there. So, coming from a country where curling's not all that well-known or popular, how chaotic do all you Canadians think it'll get up there, I know that when the Super Bowl hit Detroit, the entire tri-county area was a nightmare for about a month...

curling is a pretty big sport in Canada, not as big as some other sport but it is still pretty big

haha i think that is the stupidest olympic "sport" ever... those olympic program directors of the past must have been pretty hard up for ideas

oooOOoOooooOoOoOO ok i know what you guys are talking about...why they call it curling? theres no curling at all...

Something with the rock moving, they refer to it as a good curl, or a bad curl... Whatever the case, it's something that I'm interested in, and will probably be going to Ferndale with my dad and brother to learn it...

I love it... It seems so devilishly simplistic, yet a lot of skill in being able to read how much force is required, and how they go totally nuts screaming at the broomers doing their thing...

Shuffleboard on ice. With brooms.

It was kinda cool watching it on the Olympics. How it ever became an Olympic sport I'll never know but it's cool to watch.

I'm not into curling but I know a lot of people here in Canada are really into it. Especially in mid-Canada. I agree that curling shouldn't be an Olympic sport since it isn't really a sport at all and doesn't really require any athletic abilities at all....it's just a game. One of the guys I work with says he could watch it all day just with the sound on on the tv since if you listen to it, it kinda sounds like a porno.....harder, harder, harder. Faster, faster, faster. He says he needs two tv's to listen to both women's tennis with women's curling at the same time.

I don't see how some sports are in the olympics like cross country skiing, and speed skating,if there in the olympics so should curling.

have you ever cross country skiied? its quite a workout. skeleton is interesting. its 10x the sport that curling is. so is speed skating.

Have you ever curled? And I have cross country skiied for years and still do,it is a real great work out but theres not much skill to it.

There is not much skill in running either. We can all do it. It's all in who does it the fastest. 8)
