Color Run

The wife and I just did our first color run today, and it was pretty cool. If you haven't heard of them, a color run is a 5k race where you are pelted with colored corn starch along the way. I was skeptical at first, but it ended up being a great time (they had a DJ and snow cones).

Anyone done one of these races?

Did you come up to Columbus, Terry? They had 13,000 participants! It was even more fun in the rain!

I was in Chesapeake Virginia. It was a nice place for a run - out on a farm, with mainly dirt paths with tree cover. The only downside was the July heat - something like 94 degrees.

I liked the run overall, but I think I prefer traditional runs. I'm signed up for the rock n roll half marathon, and its supposed to be 20k people, with a bunch of big name bands at the after party.

Our color run was in Columbus OH yesterday. Supposed to be terribly hot, but had a few minute downpour halfway thru that cooled everything off. Had a blast. Worst part was the walkers didn't stay to the right like the rules instructed, and sometimes they were walking 4 or 5 abreast, making getting around them impossible without pushing. It was like an obstacle course for us runners. I still don't have all the blue off my skin. Lol.

The one here donated a portion to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (local hospital only for kids).

Looks like fun!

Come to Colorado for a Tough Mudder (June 15thish). It is is in Beaver Creek. The elevation is killer.
