Anyone know how hard it will be to swap my leaf spring rear suspension to coil?? I have a 93 cherokee and i wanna take my full suspension and axles out of my 97 Grand cherokee and install onto my cherokee.. Is this a good idea?? Anything I need to know before i try this swap?? Any suggestions would help alot !! Thanks

It can be done, but why? The XJ has a well designed suspension system that seems to work well in almost all situations. The front coils provide good flex and ride, while the rear leaf springs add much needed stability.

The Grand Cherokee front axle will be a downgrade from your current axle because the Grand d30 is a low-pinion axle, weaker than your current high-pinion d30. What rear axle is currently in the Grand?

Here's a kit to swap the rear to coils: Treks Offroad Products - Rock-Treks 5.5" Rear Coil Conv Upgrade - Jeep XJ

i did this swap to a friends xj but he used some dana 60s. the four link in the back is pretty easy to do. if you have fabrication skills there are alot of place you can go to calulate your link mounting locations and lenths. i agree with bounty hunter though GC axles arent much better if at all.. and stay away from the alumunin d44 used in the GC they are bad axles.
