Hi Guy's,
Looking to lift my 1986 CJ7 w/AT transmission. What lift kit (company)would you guys recomend? I plan on fitting 35's on it. It's a daily driver. I understand a 1" bodylift and 4" suspension will work. Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Kiefer

Welcome and I too will be looking to lift a CJ real soon! Right now SOA is an option and a simple 4" lift kit from Rough Country is a deal yet BDS is a bit more but you have that lift time deal on the Springs. There is such a wild wide spread range of options to choise from. So do your research and I will do mine and we can get our heads together and see what comes out to be the way to go. Many here are a head of us and have already done what we seek to do. Info will not be in a short supply. Good luck welcome to Jeepz and have fun! tug

I have seen a cj7 with an S.O.A.(spring over axle) and a 2.5 suspension lift from rancho. It was very cool with some 35's neatly fitted underneith them fenders.
Welcome to the board.

I know BakedAlaskan recently put a BDS system on his CJ, you might want to ask him how his is doing. Their CJ kits are a little less $$$ than their YJ kits - you can get a complete kit for around $470. Good stuff, good ride, and a liftime warranty.

when money allows i am going to be running 37's on my daily driver, and i dont have a longarm kit, this should be pretty interesting

Letting the beast get the better of me.

Yes sirrie!! I would highly recomend the BDS system. I can't believe the quality, fit, ride, for the price. I have a 2.5 BDS and 1 inch body lift and 31's. I believe 33's would fit fine. 35's??? tj flares or more lift then 4".

As for 35's with a 86 automatic................................"SLAP!!!" Now that your awake, think G-E-A-R-S!!!!!. I put little 33's on my 86 auto and it barely would move out of it's own way. 4x fine within reason, but was horrible on the street.
I lifted mine with half inch lift shackles (1 inch longer) and a 1 inch body lift. I installed TJ flares and my 33's never touched at full stuff. I did have to square up the front inner fenderwell.
