OK there are all these silly little retangle shaped lights on the heater lights and wipers on my ol CJ just like all the other ones in the world. I have a couple missing no biggie. But I am going to either replace them or do away with them. I found the missing ones in a junk yard I can buy real cheap and save that money for a good part that I can really use. Question how do I get the things out of the dash with out breaking them all to pieces? tug

I replaced mine not long ago. I was missing a couple and wanted to keep the ones I had as spares. There was no way to keep from breaking them when I took them out. The plastic was very brittle from age and you have to squeeze them to get them out. I bought a complete set off ebay for about 16 bucks. They work fine, and they aren't as delicate, probably just because they are new. I would suggest that just to save you the frustration of trying to keep those old ones in one piece.

on the same subject, how do you replace the bulbs in these lights? Mine are slowly going out, one by one.

I don't think they are meant to be replaced, but I suppose you could cut the back out and solder a new bulb in there. From what I remember of the ones I smashed trying to remove, I think they were just very small bulbs soldered to the leads that come out the back of the housing. I'd just go with a new set.
