Cj 7 sending unit replacement

Replaced my sending unit on my cj 7. Installed sending unit and new filter started it up and ran for about 5 min and died. My electric fuel pump was working then stopped! So I replaced that and the new one did the same thing! So my question is have I done something wrong in the tank that is making my pump stop working?

Could it be a clogged or pinched fuel line?Try and check the line from the tank to the pump. You may have to disconnect it from the tank and the pump and use compressed air to make sure it's clear.

could you have put the pump back on backwards and it ran long enough to empty your float bowl then die? changing the sending unit could have stired up loose junk in your tank and is being sucked up pluging the pump and or filter.

Fuel goes threw the line just the pump stops working. Going to check my wiring in the morning to see if I am shorting out the pump.
